:help: We just bought a 75 gal Won Venturi Protein Skimmer and the directions (not much there) said to make sure you keep the water at the water line. Which is way below the waste cup. So in doing so I don't understand how the waste gets into the cup. Can someone please explain it to me.:notsure:

The way a skimmer works is that very tiny bubbles are placed into the skimmer which attch themselves to small particles of waste. Since bubbles have air in them, they float and create a foam. This foam rises and overflows into the collection cup. The bubbles burst leaving the waste in the water behind.

Thanks!!!!!!!
But the bubbles aren't reaching the cup with having the water level where it is at. What should we do?

just give it time... if you followed the directions it WILL work, however it may take about a week to start, and if your tank is still new, maybe longer

The skimmer needs time to be broken in. You will also have to make adjustments to your water and air flow inputs. You want the bubbles to just barely be breaking at the top of the center column. If you have it adjusted to high, you'll end of with nothing but water in a short time. Just like everything else in this hobby, be patient.
