Protein Skimmer

What does everyone think about a RED SEA PRIZM SKIMMER? I got one for free and am using it on my 29 gallon reef setup, but i dont think its working right. The collection cup never fills up. Should i even bother with it? I have a fluval filter that covers 40 gallons so thats why im wondering if its even worth tampering with.

I've seen one in action on a very large tank at a local fish store and it was pulling some awesome skimmate. In my opinion it is worth tinkering with.
