Thinking about getting some zoo corals- Do all corals require a protein skimmer

They don't require one, but it is beneficial to remove excess nutrients from the water.

Protien skimmer isnt required for anything, the corals will all look kinda drab with out one, less growth, and SPS probably wont last long.

You will get different opinions. The thing to look at, imho, is the skimmate itself. Do you really want that stuff in your tank?
Some corals do better in "dirty" water. Most do not.
