Protein Skimmer

I got a 55 gallon tank and I want to know what kind of protein skimer I should get for my sump. Can I just get the corallife super skimmer up to 65 gallon since I only have a 55 gallon but I am not planning to get a bigger tank since I only live in a renting apartment. I have a Pro Clear Wet/Dry w/prefilter 125 model for my 55 gallon tank and my question is, can hang this protein skimmer in my sump or I have to put it inside where my return pump is located.

the ss 65 would probably be good for you. You can hang it on the sump or put it in the sump. If you have the room, you could get the 125 for not much more money, and it is quite a bit nicer and would be plenty for sure.

i have a brand new ss125 never used...i bought it to put in my sump for my 90g and replace the seaclone i have but when i put it all together it wouldnt fit under my stand because of the drawers

I rather put it outside the sump because i don't have room for it but will it hold the weight if i hanging it in my sump and does it the lenght for the powerhead to go in the water if i do put it outside the sump.
