Protein skimmer

I have a CPR bak pak 2 on a 38 gallon tank. Do you run these 24/7?

The only time I turn off my skimmer is when I am cleaning the cup. Otherwise, 365 days a year X 24 hr!

I have alot of micro bubbles and this unit is loud. Is that normal?

I've never had one; but for problems like this, I like to call the mfg tech support. I've gotten a lot of help in many areas of the hobby this way. If a company doesn't have good tech support, I avoid their stuff.

I run all my skimmers 24/7.. Give it 24hrs to brake in and find equillibrium with your water chemistry., and raise the cup a little (1/8-1/16 of an inch under water in skimmers chamber)and some tweaking may be needed to the air intake valve....eventually the air intake valve should be open all the way.. and sjkimmate should be foamy not watery..
