protein skimmer

We have a 115 gallon tank and wondering what would you recommend for a protein skimmer? We have corals, inverts and some fish.. however, we're just learning and wondering what anyone can suggest to us on a limited budget?

Do you need a sump skimmer or one that hangs on the back of the tank? How much are you hoping to spend?

If you go with HOB skimmer, really hate to say it, because I understand the budget, but I got an Aqua C Remora skimmer for bout 140. I have a 55 though, but if you go through the right sites you might be able to get one reasonably priced. Just don't go for cheap cheap. Equipment like that you will have for a long time, or you want for a long time. Just IMO. Some places are having crazy sales too, so you could get lucky like that. I upgraded my lighting and saved almost 200 bucks. woo hoo ;-)

All I can say is the skimmer is the one piece you don't want to skimp on, but yet everyone (myself included) thinks it would be alright to skimp on it.
