biggest questions are is this an insump or does it have to hang on the back? In sump for a 75g i would go with an ASM mini G or the next one up good bang for the buck.... Im sure there be alot of suggestions

Don't do what I did and buy your sump first only to find out that the skimmer I really wanted would not fit in the sump. IMO your budget is going to limit which skimmer you willl purchase. For the budget minded, ASM, Vertex, Precision Marine (red line series), and EShopps, are a few viable options, all are needle wheel designed and driven, and and first several have all had reported problems with their associated pumps. I just purchased the Precision Marine Redline 125 for my FOWL 120 to replace a reef octopus reciruclation skimmer due to it's very small footprint. I guess I should also asked if you skimmer is going to be H.O.T. or in sump.

I agree with Small Triggers, but would probably move up to the G1 X ASM skimmer I used it on a 54 gallon mixed reef corner tank and very good luck. According to Marine Depots reviews, there have been many problems with small pump on the Mini G. I had also reccently heard that you could almost cut the tank rating in two on the ASM skimmers, mine was oversized for the tank so I had no problems and am preparing to put it under my 65 gallon mixed reef.

Thanks for your replies so far. A guy at the LFS recommended a Euroreef DS 80, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. The ASM actually goes inside the sump, correct? I am using a 30 long as the sump.
