protein skimmer

I have a 110g tank and I want to get a high end skimmer. This is what I am running I have a knock off Miracle Mud type system. It has a sump with bio balls on one end Miracle Mud ( my lFS claims he buys the mud the same place miracle mud does) But I really don't think I am getting the results I want. So what I want to do is put in a Protein skimmer next to the sump. I have looked at Aqua B seems to be a great skimmer that you can put next to the sump but they are expensive. What do you think I should get? I am also using a CPR bakpak,

I just got a Prism & it sucked. Way to confusing & the intake plumbing sticks out too far for most lids & if it's not 'screwed' in enough, it tilts back too far & leaks for days! I am considering getting the Bak Pak, not as expensive & from what I've heard & seen (was loaned 1 from LFS) they do just as good as any other brand.
