with the amount of live rock that you have, I would have a skimmer on there. I have 100 lbs of live rock and my skimmer is all the time pulling off shiznit from the rock.

I would say it is probably up to you. Skimmers in my opinion are only important for inverts, coral, etc. Your fish are all pretty hardy and would probably do fine with just live rock and the wet/dry filter.

First off I am kind of new to this, but from what I have read or heard most people say a protien skimmer is not a "must" in a fish only tank but they have one in theirs.
(Translation get a skimmer in will make your life easier later)

I've got the SeaClone 100 on my 44 and when I first had it setup I loved it. The water was consistently cloudy even with water changes every week. After I put the skimmer on it cleared up in six hours.
IMO - Get one... the SeaClone is available on-line for about $50-60... but I've heard good things about the Prizm (another inexpensive one). The best low-cost unit out there is prob the CPR BackPack if you can find one for under $100 (not sure how hard/easy that is).
Hope this helps!
Cheers.
