protein skimmer

Hi all. I was wonder what you all have found to be the best protein skimmer. I have just got a new wet/dry filter in order to get all the filters off the back of my tank. I wanted to add a new skimmer to the sump area so i need one that is not mammoth. I have a seaclone 100 right now and it is a pain. Just when you get it adjusted so it is not blowing so much air back into the tank, the air nozzle clogs or something else. I want one that i dont have to play with the air intake all the time and that is more efficient. Any suggestions???

I also have a Seaclone and am getting ready to upgrade it. I have asked this question and done some reading on past posts. I think I will be going with the Nautilus (SP) TE. It is around 150-170 depending on where you buy it. You also need to get a powerhead with one.

what size tank do you have??
I have a smaller tank and i use an airlift skimmer by berlin. It is just a simple acrylic tube with a collection cup at the top, it does great for smaller tanks and only costs about 29 bucks!
Plus you can make all sorts of custom jobs on the and add a overflow jug so you dont have to empty it as often.

I used to own a seaclone >>> UGHH!
I know exactly what you mean. I decided to buy an Aqua C Remora. The reason I choose the Aqua C over the Nautilus IS that the Remora uses a maxi jet 1200, wheras the Nautilus needs a Mag 7. Big Difference in efficiency. IMHO the remora is a better deal in the long run. It has performed wonderfully, requiring absolutly no adjustment... the only initial adjustment is the thickness of foam you desire. Thats all.
