Protein Skimmer

What is the best skimmer? One that uses cyclonic action or just fine bubbles? I am in the market for a new one, not sure which is the best...don't want to have to

the house. My tank is 38 gal. and is 5 mo. old. I now have a figi devil and a clown fish. Looking to add a few more fish and possibly a crab or shrimp. Thank you, this site is the best....learning alot!

I have used a CPR Bak-Pak filter/skimmer on a 58 gal. tank for the last three years and still enjoy it. I would recommend the pre skimmer box that they sell as an add on. It helps prolong the life and reduce the cleaning of the pump. I have kept several species healthy with it, and a Emporer HOB filter. I even had a juvi. emporer go through a complete color change. Cost? Under $150. Hope this helps.
