Protein Skimmers

Question #1:Is a protein skimmer worth the money?
Question #2:What is the difference between regular protein skimmer and a counter current protein skimmer?
Question #3:Will a protein skimmer help reduce nitrates and nitrites?

I second Kip. I also run mine 24/7 except when feeding supplements or adding additives.

Id say yes. As I said I run mine all the time and the collection cup gets full of nasty stuff. Its nice to see that stuff get pulled out. However a lot of people dont run one. DSB and a bunch or LR will be extremly great filtration but I have always had a skimmer so whats extra pullin crap out of the water gonna hurt? I would just turn it off when feeding for a few hours and when adding supplements.

does anyone have a cyclone 100 protein skimmer i just got one and its on right now but its putting a lot of tiny air bubbles out into my tank is this normal?Thanks for all the help guys
