:help: OK guys need some more input. I got the 90 up and running with about 40lbs of base rock & 90lbs of base sand. I just now received 50lbs fiji LR (another 30lbs lalo LR to follow) and 20lbs LS Right now I'm running my established fluval 404 to help speed up the cycle. My new quest is a good, realable and hopefully inexpensive protien skimmer (is there such an animal). Dustin has sent me a DIY and although I am very handy I lack the time to construct it. Oh yeah one more thing I am looking for a hang on tank stlye, at least until I have time to maybe turn my 55 into a fuge. Thanks in advance

IME you get what you pay for...Buy a cheap skimmer itll work like crap. You should look into an aqua c remora pro. Or build a sump and get something better like a euro reef skimmer.

If at all possbile, I would try to do the sump from the start. I am running a 55g, with a 10g sump, and a Euroreef skimmer which was in the low 200s. It is an awesome skimmer. I did just also move up to a drilled 55g. It can handle a lot mroe volume that a single drain over the back overflow.

The eurosetup is pretty easy to build but if your not as handy and don't want to pay high prices you can buy imagtation ones which work pretty well.
