PS Probs.. Gonna break this thing

Ok so I have posted here a few times about this 135 tank I just got and set up. SO now I have been noticing this since I set it up but ran out of ideas. So when the PS is off NO micro bubs in the main tank... PS comes on a

load in the main tank... I have tried adjusting the flow of air and all but nothing. Today I have a sponge filter for a power head and tried that but nothing! So what can I do? My sump is a 29g converted by the PO to be a sump. The Area where the skimmer sits is close to the return line to tank.... I have maybe like 8in by 12in to put the skimmer in.. SO what can/should I do? I dont want these damn bubs in the tank!

I have a Pro Clear MPS 75..(yes I know to small for the 135) Anyways I have had this thing running for about a year or so and when it moved to the 135.. BUBBLES!! for no reason! So what can I do?

Totally lost me... Let's start over. What is a "PS"? What exactly is the problem, bubbles where you don't want bubbles, what?

Okay... so if you are talking about a protein skimmer, why is there an issue of bubbles in the main tank (display (DT))? This should be located in the sump, correct?

OK yes I am taking about a protein skimmer and yes it is in the sump... this thing is making to many micro bubbles and they are coming out the out put of the skimmer. So they all end up in my sum and get sucked in to the main tank... It did not do this before on my previous tank.. SO whats the issue did I do something wrong?

I saw you mentioned sponge, but like the rest of us, I'm a little confused about your post, however...
I have a 3 inch thick and about 8 inch high piece of sponge in my sump between the PS and the return pumps and it filters out the micro bubbles pretty well.
When I do a water change and my sump level rises above the sponge, I get bubles, so I know the sponge is doing something.
It's about impossible for a bubble to make it through 3 inches of sponge.

Maybe you can try that.

i had a similar problem, but mine is a HOB. what i did was get a few PVC pieces-2 elbows,1 T....stick elbows on ends of T so it looks like a W. connect that to the return from PS this way any bubbles float straight up to surface rather than getting blown around the tank.

I have a similar type sump, it has a bubble trap between refugium and the water return area and I put my return from my skimmer into the bubble trap and haven't any problems. I have a Coralife Super Skimmer.
