I've never kept lions and puffers together, but it's a coin toss as to whether your lion will get beat up! Many on this site feel that they are a bad combination. Puffers are pretty mean, while lions look mean, in fact, they are quite peaceful fish.

Hows everyones luck keeping a Lion and a Hawiian Blue spoted puffer together...
I dont know anything about the hawwian spotted puffer itself but i can tell you most puffers that i have known have ben agressive eaters if your lion feels he has to compete for his meal he will starve .lions are preditorial fish they live for that hunt. but puffers on the other hand like to spot it and chomp it.if the puffer turns out to be agressive eater you may have to remove your lion to a more peacefull feeding enviroment.
I have a porcpine (sp?) puffer and a lion. puffer is a gultton, but my lion is very compitive with the puffer over food. I guess it's up to the individual fish though.
I had my blue spot toby puffer with my lion for seven months without any problems until my banggai cardinal killed the toby.
However, I still have my striped puffer with my lion and they get along fine.
