Puffer Fish in Reef? Good/bad?

Well, I acquired a 1 inch green/yellow pufferfish
with black dots. The thing was awesome. My
friend knew someone who was moving and needed
to get rid of his fish. So I took the smallest
one.
Anyway, I took it to a LFS because he said it's
not reef safe.
Is this true? He didnt seem to bother anything
in the tank the 3 days I had it.

Puffers are very bad for a reef! Good thing you took it back, because eventually it will starting nipping things you don't want it too. A puffer is always a puffer.
