Hey Just added my porcupine puffer to my tank 2 days ago, he has just been swimming at the top of the tank and bumping into the glass to try and get away... just wondering if this is normal behavior when being introduced to a new enviroment... he also hasnt ate anything at all.... just making sure he is ok and if there is anything I can do more to help him fit into the new tank!

I'm new to the hobby myself, but I've noticed a lot of the larger puffers regularly bump or rub the glass, especially with their mouth. I don't know why, but is that what he's doing? What size is your tank, and what are you offering him to eat?

I have a porcupine fish as well
, and I just have a couple questions,
1 How big is your fish tank? (He might be adjusting to the size of the tank.)
2 Are there any fish picking on him?
3 How big is he, and dose it look like he has eaten before you got him?
(It's normal for any fish, not to eat for a couple of days!)
4 And at last, How is your water quality?
Over all it's quite normal for what he's doing.(Just remember, BE PATIENT!
)

it might be from the stress from your brother, how old is he, i would tell him it will sting and he will have to go to the dr or something, maybe put the fear of god on him idk

Most porky puffers love Krill. Shell and all its good for them.
If hes out in the open then thats better than him hiding, they are one of th ehigher side of the intellegence spectrum as fish go. Some would say even emotional and capable of depression.
If hes not hiding then probably just give him a few days and try whole krill, never met a puffer that didnt like it.
Good luck with him.

Mine did the same thing when I got him. I thought maybe it was just exploring his new environment. Puffer are pretty intelligent and can recognize people. Try silversides soaked in garlic to get it started. Good luck.
