My dog face puffer took a couple of days before it started eating but now will come to the edge of the tank and beg for food whenever I walk by and has started to eat out of my hand. It's favorite food is mysis shrimp but flake works too. The next consideration is your tank and its size and water quality parameters. Bad water/living conditions can stress any fish and cause the behavior you describe. Are there any other fish in your tank that might be bullying the puffer?

Yeah, my puffers have always said "no one bothers me!" and they are the kings of this castle, unless they were really small and the clowns bothered them. What have you been trying to feed it? Are your other fish eating?

It took me 3 weeks to get a puffer to eat. Used a feeding prong and had to actually touch the krill to the puffers lips, once he more or less tasted it, it was on after that. I only did it because he had taken so long to eat. Then it was just a matter of getting him to look up. No worries ever since.
Good luck
