Puffers & Aquascape base rock?

Getting ready to order a 750g Tenecor, Marine Ready, acrylic tank, and I need to know if I can partially stock the tank with painted, poly, aquascape rock and actual live rock? With a tank this size (120" x 48" x 30"), all live rock would cost me a fortune. My biggest concern is that a lg puffer will groom his teeth equally on the poly and the live rock and then may subsequenty ingest the poly an become ill. Is this real or imagined concern? My last stars and strips gave my live rock a good beating. Please let me know soon as I will be ordering and purchasing the tank within the next 30-days

As a side note, puffers can potentially do a number on an acrylic tank with their beaks. I also have a tenecor and settled on a valentini puffer. Depends on the fish.
I would buy a lot of base rock and mix with live.

I think that is a valid issue, my puffer loves chewing on my rock, I'm not familiar wiith the makeup of the faux rock. But I have seen tanks with dogfaces, mappas and other puffers in faux stuctures in the tank. But I do not know the make up of those structures.
