Is this a good idea for a reef or bad, I have read alot of different opinions on this subject, and I was thinking of getting some.
Thanks,

Its cool looking, its fun, and it boosts the ego when it comes to propagation. B U T .......it sprouts legs and reproduces like nothing on the planet. I have to mow mine down continuosly.

I like mine. It's relatively easy to keep, fun to watch, and does spread relatively quickly. Once you get good at it, it's nice to be able to trade a few frags every month or so to get new stuff for your tank. Almost like growing your own money for the reef tank fund.

True dude!! My xenia and grape macro trading totally supports my tank now. Recently traded some of both for a new MH bulb!!!!

I like mine... you just have to maintain them so they do not spread in areas you don't want them.

Harlequin, I read on another site that you half to have at least 5% of the central disc on a leg and it will grow back.

you know, I don't know why people don't like this stuff, its cool to look at and can be sold back to pet stores to help fund the hobby. I get up to $10 a rock for mine.:jumping:

I am not the only one
except mine dont pulse either, i think current is too high, they seem to pulse when I have the powerheads off when I change the water. And no they are not in direct path of heads.

I suspect it has more to do with the water change than it does the powerheads being off. Mine will pulse like crazy right after a water change, then over the course of 4 weeks or so, they slowly stop pulsing. Then the water change, and they're back pulsing again. I'm not sure what it is about fresh water... but it's got to have something to do with some water parameter. I've read it might be alk/ca, but I can't say one way or another.
