I take it your referring to the Bullet skimmer made by PM (Precision Marine)? Can I ask why the skimmer is 7.5' above the sump? That is a good amount of head pressure your asserting on the pump and then trying to drive the beckett for the skimmer.....For a good pressure rated pump I'd look to no other and no further than Sequence Pumps......

Good question. I took over the adjacent room for the sump, reservoir, 1hp chiller... This is the biggest bullet and the only room for it is above the sump. I will purchase the MDM sequence pump. The issue is how to determine the proper one. Any idea? Thanks

Shawn may have a precise answer but I would find out the head pressure that the manufacturer suggested for your skimmer and
go to Sequence web site and/or online store that carries these pumps. They will give tables of head pressures produced at various heights. Make sure that the head pressure say at 10' is at least the minimum head pressure you need for the skimmer.
I would put a 'T' in the line with a ball valve to allow you to return any 'excess pressure' back to the sump. This should allow you to fine tune your system. I would expect you would need something along the line of a Barracuda.

Call Sequence themselves and give them the measurements your dealing with and they will figure your head and your needs. Their customer service is very good!!!!!

Al Mc the barracuda is a flow not designed for that pressue.... He would actually be looking for something in their pressure series. The reflo line has alot of flow, but driving a Beckett style skimmer is a bit more!

Actually the people you want to call is reeflo pumps. Sequence jettisoned their reeflo division which handles most of their pressure rated pumps for aquarium use.... or something like that. It's a weird thing that happened over there. I want to say the guy's name is Rick that answers the phone... good knowledgeable dude. When find the web site, be prepared, it's awful.
When people think Sequence/Reeflo, they think dart, which is not the right pump for this. Dart (and it's sisters like the barracuda) are not made for pressure but for flow.
For this application, I'd use a Reeflo Wahoo or Marlin. Their head pressure is in tens of feet...
