I was considering buying a Berlin HangOn Tank Protein Skimmer (Classic Style) and was wondering if the pump that comes with the skimmer can be used outside the tank, in-line between the tank and skimmer, or does the pump only operate as a submerged type pump. I would really like to keep the clutter inside the tank (75 Gal FO) to a minimum, that is why I thought that I could use the pump outside the tank and then just have an inflow tube in the tank.
Also, as an alternative pump has anyone used a Mag 700 external to the tank, inline between the tank and HangOn Tank Protein Skimmer ?
