i just picked up a new 1/10 HP Pacific Coast CL-280 chiller, and they mentioned to use a pump without alot of head pressure.. so i assume a mag is outa the question ? ( they recommend 300 min/600 max gallons for a pump)
any ideas on a pump/powerhead to use ?

What's goin on.
Are you pumping the water at ground level in the sump or all the way to the main tank? This is probably an extra 4' lift plus a foot or two for bends. I checked some old flow charts and found out
-You can probaly get by using a Eheim 1060 for ground level, ie recirculating in the sump only. It's 450 gph @ 2'head
-If you are dropping to ground level and then pumping all the way back up to the tank you may want to go a little more ballsy like a 2-MDQ-SC Little Giant if you can hook up externally.

Sorry man been outta town in Muskegon for work all week, just got back. Yeah, we're gonna go riding this weekend. We got a Yamaha pw 80 about three weeks ago at the auction, that thing is a blast. Neighbors are starting to get pissed!
I'm thinking the little giant is a pretty good call if you're pupming all the way back to the main tank. Only thing is that it has a pretty big head pressure. Not really sure what to tell ya.
What is the max head that you're allowed?
