pump help

ok i have a question i hope someone can help me with. I just got a brand new ca 2200 and a cd 4000. I am trying to connect the ca 2200 to my skimmer. The problem is when i connect the pump to the skimmer (and yes connect the air hose to the pump) I get no bubbles. why whould there not be any bubbles? I thought it might be the pump so i connected the 4000 just to see if the pump was bad but it did the same thing. thanks for any help you may have.

HOpe its this simple. Have you adjusted the venturi? When closed, you get no bubbles, just water moving through the skimmer. As you open the venturi valve, which aligns the little nob with the tubing, you allow more air in which is necessary. Try this and see if it works, Ifnot,pullout your instuction booklet and make sure you have everything assembled correctly. What kind of skimmer do you have?

it is not that. I have messed with that as much as one can. it is a Catalina Aquarium Skimmer. Brand new. if you have any other ideas let me know.
