i was recommended to use the mag 9.5 pump for a refugium. originally i wanted to use the pan 100px. but if i were to use such a pump there would be no way i could avoid a elbow to the inlet in order to fit in the stand.
what i need to know is how much heat would i expect would be exchanged with the surrounding water in the sump with the mag 9.5?
thanks

That depends on the total water volume of the sump and DT. I use a 9.5 in a 32 gal mixing trashcan for changes. The RODI Top-off 32 gal Trashcan is 72.5F and I just tested the mixing can that had about 12-15 gal water in it and it was 85F. I did have one (9.5) running in a frag tank the was connected to my system when it had close to 300 gals total system water and it was negligible.
If you are under 75 gal total water I would think at least 1-2 degrees. If over 75 - 130 then at least .5-1.
I am talking about water and not tank/sump size, if you have LR/LS that will displace and reduce the Total water amount.
