I have a 55 gallon tank i am thinking about getting a new pump.I want a external one any.do i need one that will pump out 1000 gph or can i go smaller i have a rio 2500 now.i had to move the return to the other side of the tank. it is a total run of about 8 feet. and i don't think it can keep up ever since i moved it the plastic part of my prefilter that is in the tank does not fill all the way up like it used to plus i would like it put the pump under the tank in my cabinet.
