Purchase from swf.com, question

my critters came today, the bristle star that came with my order is torn apart. it's legs are everywhere but body intact. the water smelled horible. is it dead? help!
of course i havent entered it in my tank. what do i do?

I do not have an answer, but I know I would not put it in my tank. I sure hope you keep us updated with what happens. I would like to see how swf handles your problem. I have thought about buying a reef package from them but will wait for awhile until I hear how they handle your situation.

It's been my experience that our host will honor the live arrival guarentee if all conditions have been met. I'd contact them and explain your situation and see what happens from there. I believe that if you are present to accept the package and follow all outlined procedures then its covered....let us know how your problem works out...but I've never heard of a ligitimate problem not being corrected.
In my opinion the quality/price/service provided by our host is tough to beat!At least thats been my expierience... :cool:

I have ordered from them and out of the things that I got One crab was dead and I think two of my three feather dusters don't seem to be in the tubes but they have taken care of me so far just send a email to info@saltwaterfish.com and your invoice # in the subject and go from there. <img src="graemlins//confused2.gif" border="0" alt="[confused2]" />

My friend ordered a Kole Tang from SWF....they honered...may be alive but not really alive if you catch my drift, its weird. The tang died after about 3 weeks <img src="graemlins//uhuh.gif" border="0" alt="[U-Huh]" />

If the star is alive, than acclimate it to the tank. The legs will grow back. When doing the acclimation, simply replace tank water with the old water in the bag until there is nothing left but your tank water. Then introduce the star. Of course, take out the legs, if you can.

I ordered a clean up crew and all are doing fine, with the exception of around 5 blue legs and 6 red legs. They told me they would replace them, either me paying for shipment or adding them to another order in the future :(

I ordered some feather dusters and one came with the tube, but no duster inside. They took care of me with a credit. I think you'll be fine!

Hey, I would definently contact swf. I have heard of legs growing back, but I guess that option is up to you. Good luck. Keep us posted. Id like to know how they handle their returns on "damaged" goods.

I ordered a chalk basslet and got a harlequin basslet and they told me that they would add one to my next order for free.
