Purified water

Is it safe to use purified water for a water change?

my LFS says it is usually the best way to go if your not going to buy a RO/DI filter system, or some type of tap water filter system. I have heard that well water is better than the city/county water services since they add so many chemicals to the water system.

A guy on the net with a 4000 gallon reef tank uses well water. It seems to be working fine.

oooo thats a good question broomer5. I myself assumed he meant at the grocery store where the bottled water is and here at my store i have mineral, spring, purified, & drinking water to choose from . I use my well water but have purification system just for my tanks and so far everything okay. (I dont have copper pipes so that may help me)
