Purigen in a seahorse tank

I've read on this board a couple dangers of using chemi-pure and chemi-pure elite in seahorse setups, but does anyone know of any issues with Purigen? I've been using it in my reef tank lately to help with a turf algae problem, and it's been fantastic. The super-fine mesh pack tht comes with the 100ml size is more than sufficient to keep the tiny purigen material where it belongs, so I don't think I'll have a problem with it escaping into the tank. Wat do you think -- does anyone here use purigen in their setups?
BTW I may have been away, but I've been lurking!
I'm getting set to start cycling the sand and rock for the new seahorse tank in the next couple weeks. It's sad that I'm so excited over the simple addition of sand and rock in a tank.... I don't even have the final filter for it yet, but I figure I can get the cycle started at least!

from what I have read its only the chemi pure elite that is bad. Its the Ferrice Iron Oxide thats bad for gills.

I use purigen in my sump, along with phosban in a reactor.

Very cool. I'll be starting this tank back up virtually sterile: dry sand, dry tufa foamed rock stand, and a sterilized tank. If there WAS a bacterium in the tank last time, I'm not giving it the chance to hang out for this time around. The tank is going to be cycled the old fashioned way...long, slow, and stable. The Purigen will be a big help, and I hope the iceprobe will keep the tank cool enough to help impede any bacteria blooms. My tank was always naturally at 74-75 degrees; the iceprobe only needs to get it to 71-72.
