Purple/Brown Sponge Algae looking stuff???

I have this Purple/Brown Sponge Algae looking stuff in my tank. It is spongy like a sponge and comes right off of the rock with ease I need to know what it is because it keeps comming back. HELP?????

ANd no i do not have photos sorry I lostmy cakera in South Carolina

Do a search for Cynobacteria and see if that is what you have.

Its probably your nitrate or ammonia levels. Get a kit.

When it showed up in my tank, I used a turkey baster to suck it out and cutr way back on the amount being fed, and turned the lights on for only an hour or so for 2 or 3 days.
That did the trick for me.
