I got a frag of some zoa's about 3 months ago. It had 2 polyps on it wheni got it, not has 4(one died 2 wks ago from getting stung.)
Anyways, I have been searching for a name for them, and finally found them on the zoa ID sight, i dont want to acutally put the name down, even though its not a store.
They are the purple fission zoas from that sight. I will try to get a good pic of them, but thats def. what they are.
Does anyone know if these are nice zoas? They are pretty slow growers, and i have not seen the same coloration on any site, or store.
Just wondering if they are on the rarer side, or just regular zoas. They are REALLY pretty whether their price tag says it or not

All zoas are nice, but probably not the answer you are looking for.

I just want to see a pic is all.

The skirt ans tentecals are purple, and the inner disk is pink, with light purple lines going through it. And the mouth, and area surrounding it is purple again

I just cant find any info on them . I have found a few places selling them online for 10-15 bucks a polyps, and one saying 35$
haha, who knows, could just be a buck fifty but im enjoying them! just wish they would grow faster.

Nice looking zoos,,,, have you ever tried feeding them ? If they are palys they will eat mysis or flake or pellets or anything and grow very fast. And even if they dont eat that just squirt some of the juice from the mysis after you have fed your fish onto the zoanthids and that helps too in my opinion :)

I decided i am going to turn some fresh shrimp, scallop, flaked food, and pellet food into much with a blended, and freeze them in little ice cube trays.
Then use that to feed the zoos 2-3 times a week, that should help growth, and they should be able to grab plenty of it
gonna try it tonight.

I made the food up, 2 table shrimp, a large scallop, 2 large pinches of flakes, and some high quality pellet food. Put a little RODI water into the little food processor, and blended it to death!! (It smelt horrible, and looked disgusting).
Thenjust cleaned out an old mysis shrimp sheet, and used it as little ice cube makers.
worked out perfect.
Hopefully that helps them to grow more. I Just got 2 purple death polyps and a lunar eclipse polyp in a trade that had been pending for 3 weeks!! Im really excited about them. The PD will need a little recovery, but hopefully the food mush helps them all out
