i have a 65 gallon tank that has been running for exactly one year, its covered with beautiful purple growth on all the live rock and the overflow box is covered with purple that doesnt come off but looks nice. i use only ro water and used a coralife 96 watt 50/50 fixture pc. i added some calcium some aragamite and some coral vital just whenever i remembered to dump it in.
and on the other had i have a 90 gal bow front with a coralife pc with 4 65 watt bulbs 2 10k and 2 aticnics. i have had it running for 6 months and it looks like crap and i have done the exact same thing on it as the other one but i have been adding some purple up to it after the first 2 months. all the rocks look dirty and have a pinkish brown shade to them but not much purple at all.
my brother inlaw has a tank set up for a year and a half and it looks like my 90 and he wants to know what i did to make the 65 purple. does anyone know my secret please let me know on it because im driving myself crazy trying to get purple in this 90 gal thanks corey

I've heard that the acintic blue lights will help the coraline algae. Running those alone will help a lot. I don't know from experience, but just what I've read on here. I have been having the problem of not getting mine to grow much either.
