purple lichen stuff?

There is a purple lichen like stuff growing to the sides of my 34 gal aquarium and on my rocks. It looks like the purple stuff on a live rock I got like 4 years ago. Is this stuff good or bad? Should I scrape it off the glass? It started in little spots and just expanded outward. It's kind of pretty really. What is it? I hope it isn't bad, because I kind of like it....

its coraline. Its good, but athseticly not too good looking on glass as it will keep spreading, and eventually cover it all. most people let it cover the back of the tank, and the plumbing/powerheads ect. but scrape it off with a razor blade as soon as it forms.
its one of the first and strongest signs of a mature and healthy tank. good job on the growth^^

Agreed, it is likely Coraline algae. Scrape it off of the front and sides of your glass. It is nice on the rocks though.

Yay! I feel as though I've accomplished something good with that tank! I hope I can get the 90 gallon going as well. Thank you! That makes me feel great!

To get it into the 90, take some scrapes off the glass and throw them into the 90 and then the spores? will multiply in your other tank. Its all over my rocks now
