i have been wanting a purple lobster since i saw one on here. I have 2 clowns, 3 green chromis, 1 royal gramma, and im getting this week a small blue hippo tang. I have a 55g, i know that its small for a tang but im getting it small and ill be upgrading to a larger tank before he grows too big, so no worries about the tang. But has anyone had one of the lobsters? I live in Maine so i know all about Maine lobsters but thats about it.
any thoughts?

What I was told was, If the lobster can catch it then it will eat it. From fish to shrimp etc. Was at one of the Petstores here in town the other day and turned to one of the employees to ask him if he realized that his purple lobster was eating his harlequin shrimp, he didn't realize he put them in the same tank
. But asking around it seems they are just fairly opportunistic feeders and will eat anything that dares to swim into or near his cave. Never owned one thats just waht I've been told

Hi there,
They are night creatures. They will eat anything they can catch at night, and you will never see it in the day.

I tried it and it killed my 6 line wrasse. I wouldn't do it again. I used to feed it silversides to make sure it wasn't hungry. And it was very peaceful. It would let snails and shrimp steal food from it.
And then it killed my fish.
you could do search and find my old threads.
