Purple Lobster

So after researching (enough I thought..ugh) about these guys I went ahead and got one. From what I understood they were considered "reef safe" as in they wouldn't harm corals, but couldn't be trusted with other inverts/fish. That was fine with me as I intended this to be "his" tank ...although it has lots of coral life going on (mainly softies and LPS if that makes any difference) he is the only inhabitant of the tank. Now, after placing him in the tank, I've been told that they can go after corals too. Is this true? Frustrating beyond belief because I thought I had a good plan in place with him and now I'm wondering if I made the right call :(

it should be fine, ive never heard of one harming coral, but i guess there could always be a rouge one out there.

Keep it fed and it shouldnt have a reason to go after corals.

Everyone I know that has had one never had a problem with it hurting coral, they just didn't like it because they never got to see the darn thing much after adding it to the tank. They are very reclusive creatures.

I've never heard of one eating corals. I had one, it never went after corals, just my fish. I think if you give it some food, it should stay away from the corals.
