purple Long tentacle Anemone

thoughts on purple Long tentacle Anemone? im thinking of adding one in a couple of weeks i saw one at my LFS today... (my tank is set up for corals so dont ask questions lol)

Just remember it'll need excellent light, water parameters and you'll need to protect it from getting sucked into powerheads/strainers UNTIL it finds it;s happy spot.....and it may roam for days until it finds the right mix of flow/light/base to mount on - so be prepared to EITHER move corals out of the way OR help "steer" it around corals during it;s hunt for a new spot. The only way I've found to "steer" an LTA around my permanantly mounted sps is to place pvc pipes in the tank - acting as a fence to keep the anemone from crawling all over corals.
Like this, but I've used 4 or 5 pipes at once before

In the right parameters, they can grow rather quickly and really spread out. How large is your tank?

how would i know witch are Heteractis or Macrodactyla or Entacmaea species?

A GOOD lfs SHOULD know what they are selling...... Many do not / or get it wrong. - in which case it's up to YOUR research. Google them and do a little reading on their differences AND requirements....and if you EVER want to see a clown host in it, each of these species hosts specific species of clownfish - so research that too.... My ocellaris clown ONLY want to host in H. magnifica, while my maroon prefers E. quadricolor.
