I have a Purple Plate thats been in my tank for probably 5 months now. The color looks good. It seems pretty healthy. It readily takes food when offered. However I've noticed lately that its mouth is always open. I can look down inside and see some of the stony skeleton. When it eats some meaty foods though its mouth will close completely. Should this behavior be of any concern? I'll try to post a photo tomorrow when the lighting is back on.
