purple tang

i find myself thinking more and more about getting rid of my purple tang. the only upside to the tang is that it's pretty in my opinion. at least the one i have. i've had it for a year and a half give or take and the thing still hides in the back sort of. only coming out in the open to feed. it doesn't seem to have any personality what so ever except that it's petrified to come out in the open. most of my fish i've had forever, but there are a couple fish that are newer that are always out and completely not afraid. this includes the vlamingi tang, auriga butterfly and mimic tang (fish not all in the same tank and definitely not added at the same time). does anybody else feel the same way? this fish is healthy as can be but does not seem to want to swim in the open unless compelled to with food.

my purple tang is out all the time not just for food. It swims around and enjoys harrassing the pearl scale butterfly and tangling with the flame angel it shares it's tank with and every now and again lets the checkered goby know who is boss.

chances are that he's not the dominant fish in the tank. I'm not sure who would intimidate him, but that's how they act when then is a bigger, badder tang around..... usually....
