Purple Tang

Help my beautiful purple tang! I just turned on the lights and she has on her side a little white blotch. It looks like someone got an eraser and erased the purple tangs color. The white blotch, is about -- long. What is it? And how do I cure it?

Give us a little more info. Like how long have you had the tang? Is the tang breathing normally? Is the blotch a wound or is it color fading; where exactly is the blotch? Did you suddenly turn on the lights when this occured?
Need more info.

I had the tang for about the month, the blotch is on it's side, he acts normal, and it does not suddenly appear at night.

do you have inverts,live rock,live sand?

Is the blotch alone the laterel line of the fish? If so, it is likely head and lateral line erosion [HLLE].

I have lr and ls, but no inverts, and the blotch isn't part of the lateral line.

Is it white just like the pigment is gone? If so dont worry it happens from time to time to mine especially after I feed him. As long as your water readings are good, he is eating well, he is active and it is not a wound he will be fine.Mine will get splotches where the colors fades to white in areas instantly and go away after a few minutes or so.
