Hello. My wife went to the LFS and picked up a clown fish and a purple tiped Anemone. I was told this thing would kill corals, but I wanan know will it kill my banded coral shrimp?

get rid of that condy anenome, its a colorful BIGGER, more destructive aiptasia. Yeah it'll kill the coral banded if it catches it. Might kill your clown too.
If it is a condy... they are more preditory than most other anemones. I dont think your coral banded will have any issues, their exoskeleton is their protective cover, getting snagged in that anemone would be difficult. However your fish are a different story. Again if it is a condy... there are many anemones that can have purple tips. A picture would be best.
Tough call... I would say its most likely a Condy or Haitian (one of the same), especially if it was sold to her as a purple tip anemone.
Condylactis sp is the scientific name for the anemone you have. Its is also know as the Haitian Pink tip because of where it is found... near Haiti. In any case it is an Atlantic species of anemone.
If you decide to keep it...first as mentioned becareful, they are more predatory then most other anemones. And second I hope you have strong lighting. They need very intense lighting to be kept long term. HTH Good luck

my tomatoe hosts my condy and my friends percula hosts his condy too, my coral banded shrimp always go on the anenome and have no problems.
the anemone will eat almost anything. i fed mine frozen krill when i had it in my fowlr. like perfectdark said, it wont thrive long term under ur light. it will move alot also and stong any corals u might hv.
