I am having high numbers in my QT. I have an ick problem and put all my fish in a 30gal QT tank. 5 fish in total. Would putting my refugium on it help with the bio load? And I want to put it back on the DT after I am done. the fish have been in hypo for 4 days.
Thanks
Chris

I don't see why it would not work as long as you are not treating with meds that could be carried back to the DT after reinstall.

NO!

QT should not have contact with display. If a pathegen is in the QT, then it will transfer to your refudg, then to your display.
Take a look at the FAQ Thread for suggestions about using an uncycled QT.

Beth, I did not think of that but doesn't Ich only live for so long. Would the ich continue to live in the sump longer.

Sorry 123inTX:nervous:

It is very bad practice to mix anything between QT and display, including instruments. When a sick fish goes into the hospital, he may have ich, he may have other diseases that you just have not IDed yet.
If you are going through the trouble of setting up a QT, then its best to do it right and not take chances.
