putting heater in skimmer?

I have a cpr bak-pak skimmer, and was wondering if I could put the heater in the skimmer. I didn't know if it would hurt the heater because it will touch the sides of the skimmer.
Thanks,
Shayn

Sort of a small space for a heater in my opinion. I'd be concerned about heat damage to the sides of the skimmer. Most remote heater locations are in the sump where there is normally much more space than you'll find in your CPR skimmer.

Yeah, skimmers are expensive enough without playing with them that way, just leave it in a high flow area of the sump and you will be fine.
Suppose you could invent a heated skimmer though, but wouldn't that reduce the amount of oxygen in the water? and isnt it part of the skimmers job to increase the amount of oxygen?
Just a thought

Just FYI ... when i had my cpr I also put the heater in the skimmer and it worked just fine...
Now I wish the remora would have that same feature cause the ugly heater is in the tank hinden behind some LR

i have my heater in my skimmer (CPR) it works great- try not to let it touch the sides but i dont think it would be a big deal- there is so much flow it would keep the plactic from melting
