im doing a diy sump but im concerned about the primer and cement being safe for my tank. i read that if its dry it will be fine. is that true? and also...do i have to use primer cause i dont want purple all over my pipes? not that its a big deal but id rather have a clean look and spend those few extra bucks on something else.

Primer does soften the pipes and make a more solid weld between them.
In our tanks, the pressure is not what it is in most other applications so the primer is not required if you dont want it.
Perfectly safe when it dries.

thanks for the quick reply. i feel better now about the cement not leeching stuff into my tank once its dry.

I should mention, it is not needed that I pinpoint your location, just always nice to find others for local swapping and to help one another for things such as babysittig when on trips etc.
Pleasure to meet ya.
