pvc glue? special kind/brand?

do i have to use a special kind of pvc glue? or can i just use what i can find at menards or lowes?

I am not going to tell you how I know this (private joke between Meowzer and me) Get the gold can of PVC cement, it says for use with Potable water which means you can drink from anything glued with it. So it is safe for the fish tank.

I've never paid any attention if PVC glue reads for potable water, but I have always used regular PVC glue for plumbing by Oately (red and white can) and prefer the clear primer over the purple.

+1 - I just did a set up used the same stuff, just let it dry before you start it up.

well i didnt find the gold can any way but i did read what i used and it said safe for potable water so i should be good
