PVC pipe sizes?

I'm looking for advice on what size PVC pipes to get for my sump. I'm going to be using gravity for intake and a Mag-Drive Supreme 9.5 950 GPH Water Pump back to the tank. If I use the same size PVC for both directions will the pump go faster than the intake? The water has to travel back straight up four feet if that makes a difference. Thanks

the overflow should be a much larger diameter then the return. I think the output from my mag 7 and 5 use 1/2 pvc and my overflow was like 1.25" I just used the sizes that fit both. The mag pump has pipe threads and pvc fittings are available for those threads.

i heard minimally, the return (for syphon) should be 50% larger
