PVC Question

I am using PVC to create a base structure in my tank and when I had the water tested the PH was at about 7.9. I was wondering if the PVC could be causing the low PH?
I have about 15lbs of LR and 50-60lbs LS and the tank is just starting to cycle(still hasnt broken the Ammonia into Nitrite or Nitrate).

Your tank is going to have some crazy off the wall readings for like the 1st 3-4 weeks or longer. So I wouldn't worrie to much about the difference in the PH till it is closer to the end of your cycle.

Cool, I didnt think it would be a problem but this is my first time with a PVC rack system and didnt know if it had side effects that I didnt know about.

You will drive your self crazy trying to control your ph during your cycle. I would only worry about the "Big 3" right now.
ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte
once your cycle is over, to a huge water change, and then go from there.

btw, LOTS of pvc in my tank. no problems. Crazy ph reading is more than likly do to your cycle.

PVC is an inert polymer material that will not alter your pH, unless you happen to light it on fire and then put it in your tank...
:D
