pvc - safe for tank?

I bought a uv sterilizer for my tank. I've been going crazy trying to find the right fittings for it (I needed reducers: 1 1/4" to 1/2" and 1" to 1/2"). I finally found the fittings but they were made of pvc. It's only 2 small fittings- one connecting the 1/2 inch tube going in and the same going out. Will the pvc put a dangerous level of toxins in my tank? If so, any suggestions??? It's a rainbow lifegard 8 watt with 1 1/4" and 1" ports. thank you

Pvc is perfectly safe. Most use it for plumbing. The glue is also safe.Make sure it's good and dry.....STEVE
