Pvc ?

I am making racks for my LR and was wondering after cutting it up but can I use the black PVC, I think it is called PVS. Anyone know, the guy at HD said it is used for plumbing and that is what everyone is going to. Said it should be the same and not deteriorate. Thoughts anyone?

Your talking about ABS pipe...I know some people who use it but there's always been talk that some of it is treated with a chemical that keeps the walls clean because its only used for waste line not fresh water line. I know one guy who did tons of research and found it to be reef safe..
