pygmy angel id?...got positive id

been looking for a good addition and got what the lfs called a pygmy angel..........I believe it is a bi-colored....its dark on most of the body.....yellowish tail and orange/redish under the head......bi-color????
Its doing fine in the q tank but does have 1 small white spot one one side(center of body)
plan to post for meds in disease forem........

if it is a bicolor it will have a totaally yellow tail and head except for a streak going thru its head of dark blue. the rest of its body will be dark blue. it could also be a cherub pigmy angle if it is tiny. they are also dark blue with some yelloy and lighter blue around the eyes and on the head. hth, bo

Right....I really don't think its a bi-color.....dark body...reddish under the head.....bright blue along lower body....yellowish tail.....body has tint of blue/red.....but mostly dark.....not a descriptive pic in any book I've got........anyone help me.....sorry but I'm not set up to post pics....YET

No blue ring around the eye.......and body is much darker(nearly black/purple tinted)
lower body has line of bright blue(metalic almost)
color under head looks close to pic above
tail has definite yellow tint.....still have not got a positive id

Size is the key the cherub is tiny compared to most bicolors shipped. The cherub is a carribean native but I believe there is an african pygmy that may have your coloration.

maybe a flameback? they are navy/dark blue with a yellow streak running thier back. other than that im not sure what it is. later, bo

it might be a keyhole (Centropyge tibicen)? a keyhole fits the description if it has a white streak on his body going vertical. thats what i found closest to your "mysetry" angel. later, bo

Man...I gotta get a camera....I guess a pic is the only way to positive ID this guy....sammy your pic is the closest....let me go from there....in your pic...the front color is the whole head...on mine it is only lower half(kind of like the cherub...but darker)...body is much darker(black/purple/maroon)......brillant metalic blue streak running the lower edge of body front to back....tail is a much paler yellow than sammys pic......it does have red circles around the eyes.............
Also....thx very much for all the input....but still ain't got a positive.....need more books and a CAMERA!!!!!
one more thing....as to the mentioned white streak....the only streak this guy has is the blue along the lower body

Dats him sammy.....and mine does have a reddish(sort of orangeish) area on the lower head........the pic I found shows the same....ty all very much for helping......now I know for sure what I got...............
