picked this guy up a few weeks ago and finally got some pics he doesn't come out much like to hide in caves more than perch on stuff

last one is him disapearing into a cave

I never seen it either. How big does it get? I like hawkfish but im afraid theyll eat my shrimp.

that was my fear too but this guy onry gets 2" max ! hence the "pygmy" its also technically in the anthias family but acts like a hawk ive read. hes real cool lookin just hides to much. i got him to replace my black clown goby hes RIP

i got mine at my LFS for $11.99 ! many places online sell them but there often out of stock

I just got one. I believe they are peaceful. He seems to hide a lot. Not sure what he eats though, flake okay?

i have a fire hawk fish and he eats about everything i put in the tank including flakes

i've heard hawks will kill shrimp much bigger than them
